Q:     I have been offered a free CRM from other property portals. Why should I pay for PropSpace when other CRMs are free?

A:      There is a famous saying: “there is no such thing as a free lunch”. Anything that is being offered for free often comes with strings attached. There are a few free “CRMs” being offered mainly by property portals whose focus is primarily on their portals and not on their “CRM”. Firstly, we would argue that you cannot call these products “CRMs”. These free products on offer are basic websites with limited functionality – unlike PropSpace they do not cover the full end-to-end business workflow. Would you entrust your business to run effectively on such a platform?

Secondly, you have to ask yourself this question: why is this software being offered for free? No company can afford to offer a great product for free if they are truly going to focus and invest in it. We would advise all clients to be aware that any free product will most likely become paid at some point in time or it may not be continuously developed or maintained. There was once a famous example in the UAE of a free “CRM” being offered by a big portal a few years ago. We would like to ask where is that product now and how many people are using it?
